Fuelled by a passion for raw feeding
I've always loved animals. Pocket money was spent on wildlife books; days out with my parents were spent asking for a new pet (I never did get that chipmunk or chinchilla I desperately wanted). I did, however, grow up with cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits and mice. Lucy, my cat, and Suzi, the family dog, were my best friends as a child.
For some reason, I didn’t work with animals initially. I did a degree in psychology and then worked as a teacher.
Needing to get out of that profession, in 2015 I started a dog walking company, Tails n Whiskers. Wanting to develop my understanding of dogs, I completed courses and attended seminars on canine behaviour. I even started a masters in Animal Welfare and Behaviour (I stopped when I had a chance to open a shop). Tails n Whiskers is still going strong but is now run by my husband (Tilly’s delivery driver!).
When Tilly, my collie, started having seizures in 2019, my focus switched from dog behaviour to dog nutrition. Seeing the benefits of a raw, chemical free lifestyle in my own dogs, I wanted to give other dogs these opportunities and Tilly’s Treat Cupboard was born.
I’ve since become certified in raw dog food nutrition, certified in pet nutrition, have a diploma in canine nutrigenomics and I am currently studying a course in canine nutrition. I’m quite obsessed with reading research papers, articles and books on dog nutrition.
I will continue to learn everything I can to help everyone’s dogs lead a natural, healthy life.
I have loved animals since I can remember, my mum always says her earliest memories of me were often finding me downstairs curled up in the dog bed with our Golden Retriever, Casey
My grandma used to take us to visit the horses down the road every Saturday and that’s where my love of horses grew.
I went on to own my own horses all my life and riding was an escape for me it was such a huge passion.
I then went on to work in the NHS for years and decided it wasn’t my passion, so I moved on and became an equine riding instructor and it was the best thing I ever did watching my student’s grow, lean and succeed the goals they set was incredible.
I currently have two gorgeous dogs Callie (Jack Russell cross Dachshund) and Miso (Jack Russell) and two adorable little guinea pigs, Vino and Blanco (shows my love for wine).
I then had to become an adult (unfortunately) and needed to get more stable job, so I became part of the Tilly’s team and again one of the best things I have ever done! I love everything Tilly’s stands for and I have never loved a job and a group of people more!
After over 25 years working with teenagers, I decided I wanted a change and less stress in my life. I had shopped at Tilly’s for many years and know that their values and passion for animals matched mine.
When an opportunity came along for me to work with them, I jumped at it. I love meeting all the dogs and owners that come into the shop and helping them get the best for their pet.
As well as working for Tilly’s I am also building my Art business. I love drawing animals and pets. I also have Chester and Eddie, my two Vizslas, who keep me busy, and I love the treat I bring home now.
I’m someone who is truly passionate about working with dogs. There’s something incredibly rewarding about connecting with them, understanding their unique personalities, and being a part of their growth and happiness. I have a dog of my own who means the world to me - she is a big part of what inspired my love for this work.
When I’m not spending time with dogs, you’ll find me enjoying precious moments with my little boy. Whether it’s playing, exploring the outdoors, or simply soaking up the small joys of everyday life.
Hi, I’m Vicki, I’m currently studying Level 3 Animal Management at college, where I’m gaining the knowledge and experience needed to work with a wide variety of animals. I’ve always had a deep passion for animal care - especially dogs.
At home, I look after 9 dogs and 2 cats, which has given me plenty of hands-on experience with their behaviour, health, and daily needs. My ultimate goal is to become a veterinarian so I can dedicate my career to helping animals live healthier, happier lives.
Hi I’m Jensen, Outside of work, I train and have competed in K1 kickboxing, which keeps me active and disciplined.
I live with my two dogs, Oscar and Charlie, who are a big part of my life.
I’m Teegan, and I absolutely love animals - I have two dogs and two cats who mean the world to me. Working with animals is something I’m really passionate about, I always want to make sure every animal is safe and healthy.
I’ve always been fascinated by languages too, and I love learning to speak different ones and discovering new cultures along the way.
Hi I'm Dave, a professional Dog Walker who loves his job. After I’ve done my dog walks, I miraculously turn into Tilly’s deliver driver!
After seeing the benefits from our own dogs being fed raw and having no chemicals, I volunteered to be Tilly’s driver to support the shop and help it succeed so more dogs can be helped.
